From version 3.1.2 to 3.1.3 Apple did only one correction in battery status. However this update also break the jailbreak for devices. But today you already can do it again in a few steps. Before begin read few recommendations:
- We don’t provide any help in this process. These steps were written as a personal experience
- We are not responsible by the tools development
- The jailbreak process will make you avoid warranty
- According to forums discussion, the carrier unlock is not available in this version. Try to unlock your phone with your carrier, read your entire contract!
To jailbreak:
- Download the iPhone 3.1.3 firmware as file
- Create a personalized firmware using PwnageTool (Mac) or Sn0wbreeze (Win)
- Using iTunes, restore the new firmware generate (on Mac Option+Restore, on Windows Shift+Restore)
To enable tethering on 3.1.3 version:
- Download the iPhone 3.1.2 firmware (Yes, the previous one) as file
- Download redsn0w 0.9.4 e browse for the downloaded file
- Put the iPhone in restore mode using the software instructions
- When finished, open Safari on iPhone this website: http://help.benm.at and select “Tethering”
- If your carrier is not in the list, go to Create your own and type your carrier data (search for your carrier apn on Google)
- Confirm the profile installation and it’s all done. Just activate tethering in Settings/General/Network

Não tem o Brasil na lista, quando se vai em Create you own, o que se coloca em Carriername?
@Luis Henrique: Em Carrier Name, coloque o nome da operadora ou um nome qualquer q vc quiser (esse valor não influencia em nada, é só para exibição). O restante você pode preencher de acordo com sua operadora. Essas informações são facilmente encontradas na internet.
Isso funciona pro 3G?? pq no meu naum alterou nada!! algm me manda o APN da claro, axei varios e naum sei ql deve ser o correto!!
@Rhodriggo funciona para o 3G e o 3GS. Isso depende muito da forma que você fez o desbloqueio. Se estiver realmente na versão 3GS, faça antes o processo através do RedSn0w que tudo deve funcionar.
Você pode ainda procurar pelo aplicativo MyWi no Cydia que há uma opção que habilita o tethering nativo. Fiz uma rápida busca e encontrei as seguintes informações da APN da Claro (Não testei):
APN: claro.com.br
Username: claro
Password: claro

@Rhodriggo: se mesmo assim seu Tethering não está habilitando, tente fazer o Jailbreak pelo Spirit (www.spiritjb.com)
Fiz inumeras vezes, mas ao final ele da a mensagem no itunes de que nao foi possivel realizar a atualização. Meu modelo é 3G 16GB e antes tinha a versao 3.1.2 com jailbreak. Porem o mesmo parou de funcionar sozinho durante uma carga.
Junior: após o lançamento de novas versões do firmware a Apple costuma bloquear a restauração para versões mais antigas como a 3.1.3. Se você já possuia Jailbreak é provável que consiga voltar para essa versão se utilizar o TinyUmbrella.
